Pumpkins!

So I was too late last night trying to register Rylan for the Lowes build and grow because I was procrastinating and my store fills up so quick we missed it. I thought we would head over to Michaels to do their free kids craft but I was wrong it is tomorrow. So we picked up some Halloween project DIY ideas and left. We stopped by our local farmers market to check it out and since we were late to that too (the last 20-30 minutes) it was winding down I will be going back for sure though for some fresh fruits!
Anyway there wasn't anyone selling pumpkins so we headed to Wal-Mart and grabbed 3. The cost was around 10.00 after taxes. I already have some fun stuff to decorate with so we will make them pretty after nap time is over. I took out googly eyes, spray paint, glitter, and some other fun items. I washed all the mud and dirt off and now we are ready to get started. I think we will tape off the stem ( I guess that is what you call the part at the top) Rhett just reminded me of something sad...he asked "I thought you planted pumpkins?" I planted pumpkins earlier this year and the vines grew all over the place but I never got any pumpkins bugs actually started to eat the vines so I just pulled them up :( anyway I will keep you updated on the decorating so check back!

First I had to clean off all the mud and dirt so the spray paint would stick to them. After that I taped off the tops and spray painted them the colors that were going to make them perfect. I wanted to make a "Mummy" for mine as I thought it was appropriate. I talked Rylan into having a black pumpkin with glitter spider webs and he was so excited about it he could not wait to do his! Rhett wanted a "Chelsea soccer ball" (I'm still waiting on him to finish his).So after painting them and waiting a bit (I did the painting at half time GO LSU!) I added the eyes and glue and glitter to the white and black ones. Then after that I wrapped mine in crepe paper (the stuff you use to decorate at b-day parties) and POOF I had a "mummy"!
