Mommy tips

I was reading my parents magazine (which was a fee subscription hehe) and I came across a fun idea to share some tips I have come across or heard/read etc.The first I want to share is one of my favorites that I am so happy I found for Rylan's room. I took old empty wipie boxes and broke the lid off and use them as drawer organizers for his small items.
This would be a great idea for a mom of a girl too for hair bows and accessories, clips or whatever. I have a perfect spot for his belts and silly bands or accessories, socks, one for white and one for colored, and a few for under garments. He is gonna die when he is a teenager and finds out I put pics of his Micky mouse underwear on the Internet lol. The next one that I haven't tried but I am excited to find. Every night Rylan asks for at least three stories and I always have to decide if I want to let him stay up a few more minutes or not. I just read a great idea so that he gets what he wants and so do I! I want him to use his manners and his utensils at supper.
This idea is to use "tickets" (I think I will print and cut them out I found this cool Transformer logo that will make cute "tickets" for our house) if he uses his napkin and his utensil and asks "may I have more" or "may I be excused", not talking with his mouth full, etc. He will earn a ticket for each good behavior and if he gets so many tickets then he gets an extra story at bedtime. WOW what a great idea. I don't have to keep asking him to do these things he will want to earn his story and (hopefully) just do all of them! This could go so many other ways also!! I may keep tickets in my pockets and if he doesn't interrupt when adults are talking but instead waits until we are done, looking people in the eye when talking to them, being kind to others, the list goes on and on and on then he will receive tickets. There is also a suggestion to be able to reward your child with something that doesn't cost any money is to promise after so many tickets earned that you can have a "silly" dinner, maybe you will all eat pasta with your fingers or you will all put your elbows on the table and talk with your mouth full! That is such a great idea! I'm sooooo going to do this! I will let you know how it turns out. We have been using money as a reward, whatever change (under .25) is in my purse is given for good behavior or getting a note home from school about how great he is doing/being or a compliment from his "sir" or "paw paw" about his behavior at their house. When he earns 5.00 we go to Wal-mart and he is able to buy a transformer. So he is always asking "mom I cleaned my room can I have a money for my jar?" This is working amazingly but with Christmas and his birthday coming up I have multiple transformers put away and this will be a better reward. I just thought also maybe I will try something like they do at school where I have a "Chart" of when it is his turn to do something at the house. He is so excited when it is his turn to be the leader at school and there is responsibility that comes along with being the leader, opening the doors, turning out the lights, feeding the class fish. These are all things he can do at home and learn responsibility. Check back for mommy tips 2 and 3 and 4 etc. lol I will need help too keep this going so if you have a great mommy tip you think other mommies need to know about then you can e-mail me at my new e-mail address Ilovemyarmywifemommylife@ yahoo.com

Oh my gosh I just came across another one of the cutest ideas that I wish I would have know or thought about when Rylan was a little guy!! Ok so if your child has white clothes (onsies for little ones or socks, shirts, shorts. whatever) if they get stained (spit up, kool aid, mud, paint you get the idea) then just tie die it!!! I so could have used this idea when Rylan was small. What a great way to save an item that maybe would have just gone in the trash. I am thinking of items in MY closet that I can do this with....

Another idea is when you buy new bedding put your old bedding in the bag that the new stuff came in. Wash it and put it away neatly that way there is no dust on it and it also has a clear package (usually) so you know exactly what is in there! These are usually great heavy duty zipper bags that are great for reusing.

This magazine is full of cute ideas, if your kid is like mine and has food all over the place before you can sit down with your plate, then try using inexpensive Frisbees (washed of course) as a plate upside down so that your little one who is learning to use their utensil has an easier time chasing food around.

Instead of buying the expensive products with cartoon characters all over it buy the store brand and let your kids decorate the boxes with their favorite stickers that you already have at the house.

If your little one is having a hard time riding his bike (tricycle) because his feet are slipping off the peddles then use bathtub nonskid stickers to help them be able to keep their feet where they belong on the peddle.
