So there has been an uproar in Covington, LA over the girl scouts decision (each section is allowed to make their own decision on rules) decided to make it clear on their site after the Colorado section decided they would be open to allowing transgender children in.
They decided they would allow the parents to make the choice/decision about what group to put their children in.... "way to go Colorado" is what I say. Are these parents afraid that their children are going to "catch" the transgender? If this was a school where children were changing or bathing together then I might say they needed different quarters since the genitals would be a concern but this is more or less a play group. I guess they want to shelter their kids from "these" people because in the REAL world there will be no transgender people out there.
Dear parents,
This is an opportunity to allow your children to ask questions and answer responsibly. This is an opportunity to discuss your religious beliefs and expectations of them and trust that your children are going to make the right decisions based on the way you have brought them up. This is an opportunity to teach your children that all people are different and should still be treated equally until they have done "wrong" then they can be outcast.
Much concern for our world,
Cara
This is what I have to say to the parents that decided to rip their children out of the troop because the Louisiana section did not say "NO" to transgender quickly enough for you. I am not going to be in support of the girl scouts and their cookie sales because I disagree with this. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and this is mine.
I don't have much else to say here....

I so agree with you! It is a shame that kids are more tolerant than adults! We are the ones who teach them intolerance. We are raising the kids to be gender/color blind! The kids play the same no matter who it is! (Lol sometimes that's not so good cause he is rough!) I will not be buying the cookies either! Danny is in agreement with me after I explained it to him! Love ya!!
