Think Easter!!
At CVS right now there is a freebie Easter candy! Go grab yours so you can start stocking up for the baskets! I think it is limit one.... but you can grab it when you get your stuff to go with the colgate rebate :)
3000 hours later :)
All the stacks of coupons my friend Shelly sent are finally put away! I am ready to go shopping lol I am almost ready actually I need to finish my list. I saw last week that there is a site that helps you cook depending on what is on sale in your area. I hope I can find the site again and I will share it. From what I read it will put together recipes for a week or whatever and it will be all from items on sale so you can make good meals and save money all at once.
So thoughtful
This week I got a huge package of coupons from one of my best friends ever, Shelly! She sent me sooo many books of coupon inserts that she got the ones she needed and was sending the rest to me. I am so excited because there are so many coupons in here that we don't get in La. I am going to be clipping for days :)

Best hot wing recipe ever!!
In my second month of Fitness magazine (which was a free year subscription from somewhere....) there was a recipe for wings and since last week at Winn Dixie I got 2 pounds of wings for under 4.00 I thought it was perfect. I also had two bottles of hot sauce I got for free from coupons. The recipe goes like this:
2 lbs chicken wings, split at the joint
1/4 C cayenne pepper sauce (like Frank's redhot) plus more for serving (I used Tabasco because I had that)
1 T freshly squeezed lemon juice (I used bottled lime juice)
3 T low-sodium chicken broth
3 large celery stalks, cut into sticks (I used FAR more than 3 lol... I love celery)
1. Preheat the broiler. Place wings in a large pot and fill with water to cover by about 2 inches. Bring to a boil; continue boiling 10 minutes, drain. (I split all my wings before boiling)
2. Meanwhile, in a small bowl combine cayenne pepper sauce, lemon juice and chicken broth (It didn't look like enough to me so I doubled the hot sauce and the lemon juice but my hands swell with too much salt so I didn't double the broth even though I use low sodium. I also rinsed the wings because a lot of the fat boils out to the top of the water)
3. Transfer wings to a broiler pan and broil, 5 to 6 inches from the flame (I did mine even lower because I am still learning with my broiler) until skin begins to blister and brown, 5 to 6 minutes. Turn wings over and broil 4 to 5 minutes more.
4. Transfer wings to a baking sheet, drizzle with reserved sauce and toss well to coat. Place baking sheet under broiler 1 minute to heat wings and sauce. Serve with celery sticks and extra hot sauce on the side. (mine didn't look like the pics and I thought that the hot sauce I used wasn't right so I decided to sprinkle some cayenne pepper.....very very very lightly on only one side..... then I used some seasoning called "dillo dust" we got some of this stuff for free when Rhett ordered a rifle part from a website called "LaRue Tactical" I just checked their site to see if they sell it and they don't, I guess they only send it out when you order something, anyway I really don't know what is in it but we are on our second bottle, it is pretty good! We used ranch and honey mustard salad dressing as dipping sauce and the honey mustard was amazing.
4-5 wings and 4-5 celery were 170 calories, 23g protein, 1g carbohydrate, 6g fat, 1g fiber (if you follow the recipe)
doing the same as I did your lips will be burning so good :) I kept shoveling them down so fast because they were so good and my lips were on fire! I love hot wings!! Its like good crawfish, if they aren't dripping off of your elbows then they probably aren't that good is what I always say, if wings aren't making your lips burn then something isn't right!

Mardi Gras!!!
OK so on my list of things to do before I die is watch a lawn mower race, haven't been able to find one locally (insert sad face here) however I did find a Mardi Gras parade in about 5 seconds from here called krewe of push mow... Pretty close if you ask me. Now here is where it gets interesting... You can enter the parade... It only costs 25.00 per person, I tried to sell this idea to Rhett but he would hear nothing of it. My next thought and selling point... It is only 75-150.00 (I don't remember exactly) to enter as a group and we could make tshirts and throw beads at people and ride in the back of a truck... He still wants nothing to do with it..... Bump on a log! Anyway who's coming with me?! Feb. 11 line up is at 10 and we roll out at 11!!!! (when I say we I mean the parade lol) we could walk and march/dance to obnoxious music too, that is an open option for me lol by the way, if serious if you're serious but if you're just kidding then so am I. Call me :) ok for real email me I you are serious leave your email here and I'll respond!
Running....
Today I decided to go for a jog/run/walk, I have never been a distance runner, I ran track in middle school only to go to my first meet and walk half of the track during the distance race. lol I hated distance running even though my coach thought I was good at it. Short distances I could kick butt you put me in a sprint and I would kill it!!! This week I have felt so run down and tired all the time so I decided I would take an hour or more to be outside and it was a great choice. I set a thousand little goals for myself during my run. I usually start out and run as far as I can until I choke because my throat is so dry from breathing (probably doing it all wrong) then I walk until my breathing is better, I then ahead and set my first goal. I tell myself I will run until I get to that sign or tree or something that I think looks far away if I make it to the said stopping point and feel like I can keep going I do and don't tell myself when to stop. If I am getting close and feel like I want to stop I cheer myself on by saying "come on Cara you can make that just keep going" and then as soon as I make it I begin to walk briskly again to get my breathing down again. This keeps on until I think I should turn around because I have to go back as far as I came so today at 1 1/4- 1 1/2 miles I turned around. I also like it when there are other people out working out because I secretly race them or at least try to keep them in my sites lol if they get too far away I make myself run again.

I will not be buying girl scout cookies......
Read this
So there has been an uproar in Covington, LA over the girl scouts decision (each section is allowed to make their own decision on rules) decided to make it clear on their site after the Colorado section decided they would be open to allowing transgender children in.

Sad world
I am sad that so many dishonest people cause me to question such sites as the one I came across today. This is a site for military families that are in need of help financially (I was searching names of potential business names I think I want to use for my business to see if anyone else is already using the name.... felt like I needed to share that for all of my family who reads this lol we are good) I went through this site quickly and there are tons of families reaching out for help in small ways such as a phone bill covered and others who need rent or a car note etc. I thought I would share this with you in case you want to look through and see if there is a family you are interested in helping. This site also has a long list of other websites that you can go to and help in other ways, such as buying a calling card for soldier over seas to be able to call home at no cost to the family, and there is another that will tell you about how to send care packages (this would be a great one for all of us couponers who get freebies that we can spare) Anyway here is the link.... The other sad part about this world is that our military soldiers are paid so little and yet they walk around with a smiling face and risk their lives for our freedom.

Monster Jam
Last week Rhett surprised me and told me he got us tickets to Monster Jam. We are not telling Rylan until the night of. I just ordered some iron on monster tuck appliques. I got some glitter made for shirts last week for the shirt that I will be making for myself. I am just going to use a shirt that Rylan already has here. I hope they come in time I will be super sad if not. We will see!!! Wish me luck :) I am also going to be looking for a book of some sorts to make an autograph book since we have "pit passes" I can not wait to see my little mans face!!
Another free card
At tiny prints if you missed the last free card or even if you didn't and you scored a free card last week, I just personalized another for my sons' teacher. I choose the one with a bee on it because his class is called the "busy bees" here is the promo code to use: TPGFREE17A I don't know how long this code is good for but I'd go over quick and claim yours now. Here is the link to the site....

Shocked
Today I left CVS shocked to see what all I got and how much money I spent... or made I should say lol. Last week I bought 3 .99c greeting cards since they have a reward going right now that if you buy 3 cards you get 3 bucks back to spend in the store. I needed greeting cards for Valentines Day so I thought this was perfect. I bought 3 paid 2.97 and got 3.00 back. I went online today to a site I haven't seen before I was able to print "CVS" coupons. IDK where I was even at. I printed 2.00 off 3 greeting cards I was able to print it two times. I also was looking for some carmex chap stick that my Aunt Kelly let me try that was AMAZING! I was able to print a .75 off of that product too. I went down the deodorant isle because I saw clearance tags like crazy. They had an axe deodorant on clearance for 1.25, guess who had a coupon for 1.00 off... this girl!! I bought 3 and was only going to pay .75 but get this if you buy 3 right now they have a reward for 4.00!!! I "paid" .75 and got a print out for 4.00. Now I have 3.00 from last week and 4.00 from this week. I went down the hair color aisle next because there were a ton of clearance tags there too. A dye I like that usually costs 12.00 was on clearance for 3.00 and I had a coupon for 1.00 off. So I go and find my carmex, it was on sale for 1.15 (Ish I don't remember exactly a dollar and some change) and I had the .75 off coupon so I was going to pay under .50. I then headed to the cards where I was going to get six that were a dollar each (if you go to look for these they have a .99c section that is where you need to look) and I had 2 coupons for 2.00 off so I was going to pay 2.00 for 6 cards. So lets add this up, 2.00 for 6 cards, .50 for carmex, 2.00 for hair dye and .75 for 3 full size packs of deodorant. I made two separate transactions, 1st I did 3 cards, 3 deodorant and I thought that would be enough to use my 3.00 extra bucks from last week but it wasn't lol I had to add the hair dye and the carmex to get over 3.00 after all my coupons. I used the extra bucks and I owed under 3.00 then I paid for my three other cards in a second transaction and it was under a dollar! I also used my green bag tag and so since it was my 4th use I got another extra buck. I now have 4.00(from the deodorant) and 1.00 (from the bag tag) to use for next week!!! I almost bought a few packs of diapers but I didn't feel like it was a good enough price for me and my gift closet. I had two coupons for 3.00 off and they were two packs for 18.00 so after my coupons they would have only been about 6.00 each pack but I bought my last 4 packs for 3.00 a pack so now I am just spoiled lol. I passed it up since it is not something I regularly use or need.
House cleaning
Today I went to Wal-mart and got so much cleaning supplies. Tomorrow morning I am waking up and driving to Alabama to clean my grandma and grandpas house. I can't wait to see them. I wish I lived closer so I could have done it way sooner because my grandmother is in her 80's (ish) and doesn't move around very well and I think she needs the help. I can't wait to see Rylan play with all of the toys that I used to play with too (I am sure they are all still there lol I know the special cubby is still there anyway) I used coupons to get my cleaning gear and I am pumped to get started I hope it makes a big difference for them. I know she wishes that she could still get up and move around like she used to. I can't wait!!!!!

Correction
On my blog about Stellar Cheri's site I was saying how I love the diaper clutches and I posted a price of 35.00 but that was for a custom order for 2 of them... oops the actual price is only 17.50... Amazing deal or I guess you could get 2 for 35.00 if you wanted :)
That's my bad lol
That's my bad lol
Stellar Cheri
Well before Christmas I began to see my frined Cheri and others posting stuff from her Etsy store. I wish I would have known she was doing this when I was prego lol I would have loved to have some of her diaper bags. I actually paid for one from a store that was almost as cute as one she sold online. I also love that she custom makes things at the request of her customers for no adittional charge. Stellar Cheri on Etsy can be found using that link. My favorite things thought I do not see on her site but she gave me prices and links to pics so I will be sharing them tonight.
Posts to come tonight...
I got groceries today and I was excited to have my bill go from 32.54 to 16.96 first transaction then 243.74 to 128.13!!!! That is a savings of 131.19! There are pics to come and some freebies cheepies I want to share with you so you can check out your store too! I also want to share a friends online store where there are tons of super cute items that I think you should check out! Cheri totally custom makes all of her products and I can't wait to share some of my wants with you from her shop. I am hoping that it is in my budget now that Christmas is over because I first discovered her shop before the holidays and I did not have it in my budget to buy what I wanted. Check back soon :)

One thing to add
BTW to all of you who have prejudice against gay and lesbian Americans..... I think it is amazing that you are ok with letting them fight for your freedom.... Our gay and lesbian soldiers are out there risking their lives so you can think and act the way you do. You should be ashamed. Or as my friend Stacey used to say "I want you to think about what you just said to me"
Gay parents
There is something that I really hate; and that is to hear people talk about gay people, their relationships and I really really really hate to hear their uneducated opinions on parenting skills of same sex couples. Here is a link to something that a friend of mine posted today. I also want to add a video that is prob one of my all time favorite serious videos Watch this! If this doesn't change your opinion about gay people and their ability to raise children then

stay tuned
Tomorrow I will be posting a rant that I am pretty mad about inside and my friend Courtney brought it to the top today with something that she posted on FB..... Thank you Courtney I will broadcasting this to the world via blog tomorrow :) I heart you.... not in a lesbian kind of way...... that is a hit of what is to come
Instagator Ranch
Today I went with Rylan and his class to the Instagator ranch. I learned a lot and really enjoyed seeing Rylan have such a great time. I learned the difference between ranchers and farmers, I never really thought about the difference before but these guys go out into the marsh and collect eggs they don't breed to get the eggs. I also learned that they can determine the sex of the alligators based on the temp of the nest.

Inspiration
I used some items I found in
pottery barn ribbon dot shade=25.00 |
pottery barn silver leaf base=59.00 |
Pottery Barn for kids as inspiration to make some things for my BFFs little girls room. I have always wanted to decorate a girls room. I have been going to garage sales to collect things to recreate ideas I have found on Pinterest. I got a lamp for 1.00 at a garage sale a few weekends ago. I wasn't really sure that it worked. I asked the lady and she promised that it did and I thought I would take the chance to risk my 1.00 on a nonworking lamp because it would still be cute decor lol. I brought it home and spray painted it with a "chrome" color paint I had and then I cut the top part off of the shade which was only fabric hot glued on. I then measured the fabric against the burlap I already had at home (I used it a few years ago to decorate for Rylan's "cowboy" party) I then hot glued it on and put the lamp back together. The whole project took around 2 hours. I need to find the right color ribbon with the polka dots still but that will be a super simple addition. This lamp only cost 1.00!!!! You can not buy a lamp for a dollar anywhere! I am so proud of this project and excited to continue creating things! So lets say I wanted to buy the base and shade at Pottery Barn... I would have paid 84.00!!!! Keep watching to see what else is to come! I suggest looking online for your own inspiration :) Now know this is not an 84.00 lamp but it waaaay doesn't look like a dollar lamp either :) Once all my tiny projects come together I can't wait to take pics of all them in the room together.

Free Lego Subscription
Lego Magazine is a great fun magazine if you have a boy or girl who is into Lego's. I got 3 free with a kit we purchased once and now we are "in the club" every quarter (I think) they send out a little magazine. Inside they have instructions on building one to three items for example in Dec. they had Santa and a reindeer I think. We have built a pencil, a boat, a car... lots of little things. There is also a comic inside and other "challenges" that kids can build and send in their pic with their creation. Once they had a food challenge and kids sent in pics of themselves with Lego pizza and Lego watermelon, you get the idea. Rylan loves when he sees his come in he immediately says "OOOO that's for MEEEE!" lol he is so excited to get that in the mail. I have to admit though that his last one came on the same day as a gift from my friend Courtney so he thinks Courtney sent that one and I just let him believe that because well...... why not really. He thinks that she is awesome for sending it too lol... Anyway if you are interested in getting a free subscription for a little one in your life go to www.legoclub.com (it may only be free for kids under 6) If you would rather call the number is 1-866-534-6258 it says give the operator code JR31 that is for the JR club which is the new one designed for young Lego fans. OK on the site it says that the JR edition will automatically be sent to children under 7. Happy building :)
UAL
I am so disappointed that until today I haven't been to a UAL store. It is a lot like TJMaxx only more name brand products for great prices. I almost spent my last part of my Christmas fund on a Coach Purse that was black and wonderful and only 98.00!! I also almost couldn't pass up some boots and some flats too lol they had some weird stuff of course that I am sure some people are into just not me... They had tons of dresses, pants, shirts and shorts. They also had a ton of accessories like jewelry and scarves. UAL stands for United Apparel Liquidators. They have an online store on Ebay but I just shopped it and I didn't find deals nearly as good as they were in store. The selection is also much smaller. I guess this is not a national store though I could only find 4 store locations online. It is worth a look if you have one near you. I will be going back for sure. I found lots of cute shirts under 10.00 and they had tons of sales right now on their winter gear.

Support Military Wives
I just found this website of a group of military wives who opened a business and they have what looks like some great items for sale. I haven't ever put my hands on this stuff so I can't say for sure how nice it is but it looks like some great stuff and the prices I would say are very fair. Check out this site to buy yourself or a gift and support your military families all at the same time. ( I like the warrior bracelets the most so far but I haven't looked at everything yet.) I am trying to find the site where I ordered charms and a few other pins and items like that from when Rhett was deployed if I find it I will put up the link.
Disney movie rewards code
Go to www.disneymovierewards.com if you are not a member already to get free stuff. I have talked about this before, today I have a code from the newsletter for 5 points. You earn points from different things then you can use them to get free stuff for you and your kids. I got two free movies this year and I got a free box of popcorn (I used the coupon for the free box with a BOGO sale at Winn Dixie to score two free boxes) You only need 75 points to get the free popcorn which you usually earn with one movie. Inside your Disney movie boxes there are little slips of paper with weird codes on the inside that you enter on the rewards site and collect points. The code for 5 today is LKFJDAL838O

Finally Target pics
This is how my shopping trip started :) breathing fire will really wear you out! I went to a local thrift store here looking for storage containers and pic frames I could paint for a craft project and we found this Halloween costume and Rylan HAD to have it, the tag said do not machine wash wipe clean only and I thought no way will that happen so I figured for 2.00 if I ruin it there is no big loss... I washed it in the machine and it is fine! He just had to wear it and on the way to the store he was asking if he could walk because he didn't want to ride in the buggy, he didn't make it, he was passed out before we got there! So my dragon slept the whole trip (it was only 7:00! He was so worn out from school) Anyway I went to the shoes first. It seemed like the whole department was on clearance! I found these flip flops for around 3.00. They are a size 1 so I think it will be a few years before Rylan can wear them, but they feel like really good quality shoes that are very basic brown with a white and navy trim on the top so they will not be "out of style" by then. I think this was a good deal for a summer pair of shoes. I have two dresser drawers that are for nothing more than clothes
that don't fit yet so that I can buy super cheap for nice clothes. Then I went to the toy section. I have a shelf upstairs that is only for toys. I buy for girls and boys all ages. I put away toys I find on clearance for birthday parties that come up for kids at school. That is also where I store "Santa" and the "Easter Bunny" and birthday gifts for Rylan. I found some Polly Pocket sets for 2.00ish each so I picked up 4, that would make a great gift worth around 20.00 that only cost me 8.00. I also picked up this Tron car that Rylan doesn't have yet (he has 3-4 but not this one) and it was a little more than a dollar so I am putting this one up for the Easter Bunny to bring. I went to the Christmas clearance which was 90% off! I got some ornaments for some crafts that I have planned for this year. They were snow flakes in packs of 4 that were only .10! I bought 20 lol I got 80 snowflake ornaments for 2.00! I also got some ribbon for gifts or crafts for only .30 a roll. I got a cute little onsie for a friend who is going to have their first grand baby this year. I got this 3 month onsie for .67. I got three packs of cat toys for .49 each with 5-7 toys in each gift set. My new baby won't need new toys for the rest of her life lol (yeah right I'm dying to give her all of them but Rhett said I better not lol she already got a gift set for Christmas and I opened one pack as soon as I got home so she has about 12 toys out now :) I went through the rest of the store after that and found some great deals all over but I had to hold myself back from buying the whole store lol. I found some bath gift sets in the pharmacy department for around 2.00 and they will make great gifts too so I got a couple of those.

Tax Time!!
I am not sure if you are thinking about your tax return yet or not but we have ours already spent on next years school for Rylan. So there is not much fun over here, no new toys, no exotic vacations, no plastic surgery, only a great education :) lol I say only but I'm only kidding because we would have it no other way. What I want you to know is this is a great time of year to save yourself some money. I have filed our taxes for the last 3-4 years without any help from a paid program at all. I use a website
Serious!
I want to share that yesterday I got a call from a "company" that and Indian caller was speaking so quickly I could not understand exactly what he said his name or company name was after asking for him to repeat it multiple times. He said he was calling for his company who is working with Microsoft on Windows 7 because there may be infections in my computer that are causing it to run slowly or freeze up. He needed me to log into my computer immediately so he could walk me through cleaning out the bugs. I felt weird as soon as he called because first he called me by my maiden name and I asked where he got my number and I told him that I had not contacted anyone regarding any problems. He said this was a courtesy call to all customers
Target
I don't have a ton of time to tell everything I bought last night at Target but I want to let everyone know that just about every department had a clearance section with at least 30% off. There were 50% off in clothes, shoes, toys, and many other departments. The Christmas section was 90% off!!!!!!!

Diapers
Did you know that for every 6 packages of Huggies jumbo pack diapers you buy at CVS you get one free? I did not earn mine last year since I was not in the market to buy diapers, I did buy 3 packs and I wish I would have gotten a great deal on getting more because I love giving diapers to expecting moms. Every baby needs diapers :) You know you are buying a gift that they can use. Also at CVS make sure you buy a green bag tag for 1.00. Every four times you use it then you get a dollar extra bucks. I have gotten 5.00 free to use on whatever I want. So I actually had a coupon for a free green bag tag and I always use it so I basically get free money! You should get one. I get milk and items like that there when we are out and I don't want to go into walmart because I am being lazy. Using your green bag tag just means you are using your own bag and not using their plastic one. I guess this is their way to encourage "going green", if it makes me money and saves the world all at the same time I am in!! Anyway use your coupons and get your diapers at CVS so you can score some free ones all at the same time!

Bath and Body works
Did I tell you all that Bath and Body works is having their Yellow Sale? I know I could go back and look at my own posts but this is just easier and I am trying to collect some freebies that I can share with you guys but all of the sites are running so slow so they must be busy with other couponers too... Anyway on their site they have body washes and lotions etc that are around 2.25 (and higher) each... so go check it out. I feel like I remember writing about this already lol..... They have purse size or travel size for .87 too so those are some great stocking stuffers or Easter basket fillers so go grab some and there is a code for 20% off too... Ill try to find it. Here is the link to their site. Happy Shopping :)
Free Coupons
Go Here to request your free coupon book. I request one of these every few months, I think it is available every 30 days but I get one whenever I remember. It is loaded with free high value coupons. It comes to your mail box....easy :) another place to get good coupons is when you get photos taken at the wal-mart photo center (not where you develop your own but the place you take your kids for the 7.99 package for 30+ pics...) they always give me a book inside my pic pack. I try and take Rylan at least two or three times a year for 7.99 so I can give photos out to my frineds and family. One of the coupons that is usually in the pack is for 1.00/1 box of pasta and so I have scored many free boxes at Winn Dixie because they run 1/1.00 sales all the time so one dollar a box sale plus one dollar off coupon= FREE pasta. I can always find a meal to make with pasta so to have a box in the pantry for a quick make it meal is great.
Acadamy pics
Here are all the deals I got from Academy the other day. I said I was going to post pics but it seems like I haven't been still long enough lately. I still have a little money to spend from my spending fund from Christmas and if it isn't burning a hole in my pocket lol I don't know what it is doing. I picked up each of these items for 2.88 each at Academy.
Yankee Candle
For Christmas I gave teacher gifts from Yankee Candle company. They were worth 15.00 but I paid around 3.00 each. Now is a great time to look for mothers day or valentine's day if you have a friend you want to give a cute something to. Or even Christmas next year since candles don't go bad, really a gift closet item is what this is great for. Right now there are a ton of items on sale over at Yankee Candle and you can get an additional 10% off of already reduced prices with code ten12 so go Here before Sunday 1/8 and check out the savings.
What not to say to someone with a loved one deployed.
Oh the times I wish I had a print out of this... Top 10 things not to say to someone with a loved one in the military on deployment. I wish I could have just passed this out daily people make the most ignorant comments when you are dealing with a deployment. My answers to some of these statements and questions are a bit more harsh however. For example the one that says something like I could never do that how do you? I would miss my husband too much.... well I guess I just love my husband more than do you do so I CAN do it or I love my country more than you or My husband is fighting right now as we speak so you have the freedom to say ignorant things like that. Anyway for the army wives out there and for those who aren't read this and take it in. Just about the ONLY thing you can or should say to someone with a loved one deployed is ask if they need help or want some company maybe, or don't ask just come over and bring dinner. Offer to watch their kids so they can have a day of walking around with no kids on their hips. Just try and remember this... Also if you are an army wife then this will help you remember that you are not the only on who is getting crazy people talking to you. I guess it is like being pregnant and people thinking they can touch your stomach because there is a baby in there... whats wrong with you people keep your hands to yourself lol anyway people have no manners and you are not the first or the last so just hang in there until the end.

Acadamy
Today I went to Academy to look for an LSU hat for my cousin in Washington (they were sold out!!!) and I decided to look in the clearance section while I was there (expect nothing else from me lol) and I could not believe my eyes when I started finding Nike shorts and pants for only 2.88!! The amount of clearance racks that they had were unreal! I searched and searched until I was sure I had touched every piece on the racks hahaha. I bought 2 shirts for Rylan that won't fit for at least a year or five but they were only 2.88 and for that price he can wear them for an undershirt and still be cheaper than Wal-mart. I got myself 2 pair of Nike shorts and a pair of Capri Nike pants and a pair of under armour underwear all for under 20.00! I could not believe my eyes. I was sure they were dropping the prices while I was shopping because it seemed like every time I went back to another rack I would find something in my size for under 3.00. I kept thinking that it is times like these that I wish I had a e-bay store because there were so many things that were not my size or didn't fit just right that I know someone would buy for 10.00 or more and still be getting a good deal! The Capri pants I got retail at 45.00! I'll post pics after I cook dinner, one pair of the shorts have biker shorts under so they will be perfect for just about anything, and the other pair have the pantie built in too. I am pretty excited! You might want to take a look at your store!

Back to school
Tomorrow is back to school. I hope everything runs smoothly. I have to go get everything ready now so that hopefully it will. Good luck to all the moms out there lol. I hope I have lunch stuff too because I kind of forgot to think about that... :( lol I might be bringing lunch to school if we don't have everything. It is supposed to be cold tomorrow so I am going to lay out clothes too. I hope my alarm works in the morning. I set one this morning to try and get back in the routine and it didn't go off so we rolled out of bed at around 9:30..... oops
Turkey casserole
Tonight I wanted broccoli and turkey in a dinner together since I had both fresh and want to use them so they don't go bad so I googled a recipe. This is what I came up with, I made a few changes though and it smells amazing, we are letting it cool a minute so I decided to blog about it, looks amazing too I have to say. It says to use cheese and french fried onions which I'm sure would be amazing if I had them but I didn't have either so I just eliminated both of those. I also added a cup of chicken broth because it looked way to thick for me, I thought how is the rice supposed to cook? so I added that and the consistency is still pretty thick so I hope it will be as good as it looks and smells.
I want to say I just looked at the recipe before closing it and it says that you are supposed to add cooked rice lol so that is why it looked so thick to me.... anyway the rice cooked in the oven with the broth so I eliminated a step without realizing.... O I also used the "seasoning" stuff that comes in the freezer section with onions and bell peppers and celery and all so I wouldn't have to cut up everything....

Looking for a free weekend out of the house?
Here is a link to all of the free weekends to get into a national park that usually charges an entrance fee. The first weekend is in January so get out of the house and see some nature away from the TV! I'm writing it on my calendar so I hope nothing else comes up that we need to do so I can take the baby out to a national park because I don't think he has ever been. I think my dad would love to go with us to do this. I will ask him if he wants to come too.
Happy New Year!
Yesterday I fell asleep while blogging lol. I was so tired from eating black eye peas and ham and cabbage lol. I so enjoyed spending time with everyone on New Years Eve and getting my midnight kiss! I missed it last year because right after Rhett got home from the deployment he went straight to England for a vacation with his best friend. (Which I totally supported because if anyone deserved a trip it was him) Today I got my newspapers that I bought last night and pulled out the coupon inserts, I feel like I haven't gotten coupons in forever because it seems like the holidays did not bring in a lot of coupons in the paper. This week there were 4 inserts so I am excited to see what coupons are in there, there will be a ton that are expired in my binder that need to be pulled out too. I am currently looking online for a broccoli and turkey recipe lol my dad brought over fresh broccoli and cauliflower and I still have turkey (of course lol) so I am trying to find different ways to cook it so it won't be crazy boring eating turkey every day. I have come across a lot of casserole recipes so that is prob what we will be having I am just looking for one that I already have everything for. I will keep you posted on the deals I come across this week.
